Consortia management
The EU Biocidal Products Regulation (EC) No 528/2012 (BPR) has seen more and more active substances approved for use in biocidal products over recent years. As the EU Commission pushes for the BPR existing active substance Review Programme to be completed by 2024, manufacturers and formulators are facing an increasing demand to get their products authorised within a very short timeframe to enable continued use.
Brexit, and the introduction of a GB-only BPR running in parallel to the EU BPR has added even further complexity to the decision making process for both active substance and product suppliers.
Forming consortia to comply with expensive chemical regulations not only shares the cost and time burden of compliance but also enables companies to share their expertise. Due to the increase in costs now required to comply in both the EU and UK, it makes even greater economic sense to consider joining with companies facing the same regulatory hurdles. At Arrow Regulatory, we have a long history of Consortium Management not only under the BPR for both active substance approval and product authorisation, but also in REACH*.
We would therefore like to invite expressions of interest from companies that are considering joining EU/GB BPR product authorisation consortia for the following active substances:
Chlorinated isocyanurates (pure active substance, active substances in-combination or formulated products):
-
Symclosene (TCCA, Trichloroisocyanurate, EC No. 201-782-8, CAS No. 87-90-1)
-
Troclosene sodium (NaDCC, sodium dichloroisocyanurate anhydrous, EC No. 220-767-7, CAS No. 2893-78-9).
-
Sodium dichloroisocyanurate dihydrate (NaDCC dihydrate, EC No. 220-767-7, CAS No. 51580-86-0)
Ethanol (EC No. 200-578-6, CAS No. 64-17-5)
In-situ generated chlorine dioxide (CAS No. 10049-04-4)
We would also invite companies to indicate their interest in supporting the following active substance combination in PT 3 applications:
-
Glutaraldehyde (Glutaral, EC No. 203-856-5, CAS No. 111-30-8)
-
Alkyl (C12-16) dimethylbenzyl ammonium chloride (ADBAC/BKC (C12-16), C12-16-alkyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride, BKC, BAC, EC No. 270-325-2, CAS No. 68424-85-1)
If you are interested in supporting products based on an active substance or combination of actives that are not listed above, or have any questions relating to consortia formation in either the EU or the UK, please contact us at consortia@arrowregulatory.com .
If you are new to BPR and have any questions relating to compliance with the BPR in general please contact us at info@arrowregulatory.com .
*Please be aware that UK biocidal product authorisation may be affected if your co-formulants are not notified under UK REACH.
